Missionary Week 1

August 8th: today was my first day of online mtc training. It was everything it thought it was going to be and more. I was able to meet my companions Elder Wilde and Elder Kraude today and we spent all day chatting and getting to know each other better. Elder Wilde is from Canada and Elder Kraude is from California. It's insane how fast time really goes. We didn't even see each other until today and we are already closer than I ever thought we were going to be. I learned in my meeting that we need to put our needs after others. In Mark 8:35 christ talks about how whosoever loseth his soul in my name shall find it. It was an incredible feeling of energy and feeling or spirit that I have ever felt in my life. it's only day one but for some reason it feels like i've been here my whole life.

August 9th: today was a great day probably up there with the days that i felt the spirit the most. I was able to feel God's love for all of us and through meeting with my district and my companions we have all agreed that we are the best district ever which I thought was amazing. We also felt the power of our great teachers Brother Cowen and Sister Shunn. They are vital to all of us in this district. They have an energy about 'em' that's fantastic. I have learned so much from them in a short amount of time. On the name tag we get an elder or sister and then the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and it's our duty to bring the spirit to everyone we meet and today I finally realized the value of the name tag.

August 10th: we learned from Brother Mills today that its discipleship of Jesus Christ is going to make all the difference in becoming a greater missionary.also learning that we are trying to teach us that first lesson we will ever teach is ourselves. on top of trying our best to gain a better understanding that the spirit of the lord is the teacher and we are just the mouthpiece.

August 11th: We learned how to greater our testimony of the Book of mormon. Our purpose as missionaries is to invite others to come unto Christ, helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost and enduring to the end. It is through this purpose that I find faith and solace in my choice to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints.

Lastly, I would like to leave you guys with my testimony that I really truly know that God lives and he loves all of his children. My cousin gave this piece of advice this week and it goes as follows. "It is true intelligence for a man to take a subject that is mysterious and great in itself and to unfold and simplify it so that a child can understand it" President John Taylor. Thanks E! I owe ya one! Guys I have learned that the best thing I have ever done was put on that black tag because it is through faith in Jesus Christ that all of us can be saved. For I know that when I come to him with nothing I leave from him with everything.

Hope you guys have a great week this next week I love you all

Sincerely, Elder Thomas
