Week 13 Heart Broken Desperadoes @ Sunburned Silverados
Aight so this week has been Maga fire straight heat so let's get right into the thick of it
Tuesday: after Halloween we finally had a day to get back to work! We had dcm and then we had some good contacts made for the day all of our lessons would end up canceling but it's aight! Then we had SoMe Bussin Steaks at our friend sister denas house and then she needed help with her router and her internet! Thanks pops I guess that degree paid off after all haha then we made some more contacts and it was lit notin to special!
Wednesday: My comps had MLC (losers JK) haha! so then i went with elder Raban and elder Ferrin straight fuego! We had a great morning and made a great plan to hit up some people! Then we had to go to FIREHOUSE SUBS! PLACE IS ALWAYS BUSSIN! Then after a few hours of contacting us we pulled up to our friend melique! He asked us a question: what can we do when life gets hard? We shared the scripture in helaman 8:10 which is about baptism and then we went through the steps he would need to take and he said that he is willing to be baptised! so that was lit! Then we went and had an insanely good member meal with the ward cord leader and we literally talked about life and missions and had some bussin brownies! that was goated!
Thursday: Started off the day strong with a lit breakfast!! DP for the win baby!! then we had a great day and were able to learn and find the balance between feeling the spirit and when to have fun! Then we went and had a big day of finding people! all of our lessons fell through so then we just went and taught a bunch of people in our clinton area and then we had some food with a member and talked to em then we just went to a bunch of members houses! President Monson has given a big push on finding people now through members because 80% of the people we get baptised come from member work so that was cool to watch and so now that is our main focus! The spirit is very interesting in the fact that it reminds us of what we need to do and so when we need to go somewhere or visit someone to go visit it's just like turning left or right or knocking again or doing this! We call it a bing so it's been pretty cool to sit back and watch it happen!
Friday we had a mega lit day! We kind of had a slow morning but then as well got through our day the lord started to bless us one by one slowly what we had been doing! We had some good lessons. We had one with Zondiniqua and she kinda went off on us and that was a fun lesson! Just smiled and waved and said OK thank you! Then gave a banger testimony and she was able to be quiet for like 10 mins and listen to the spirit which was so cool! Man, I LOVE MY JOB!! I NEVER WANNA LEAVE!
Saturday: ITS GAME DAY BABY SO YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT TIE I GOT ON! Then we had a mega sluggish morning and probably the hardest day of contact of all time! We kept asking heavenly fathers for one miracle! We use this app called areabook and it has everything you need for the mission in it! And there is a 4 hour chunk where we hit 40 doors and no one answered! But that is OK because trial and patience go after a trial of our faith! We then found one new person to teach and so we taught her and we were able to find that she is willing and ready to come to church so that was mega gas! Then we had some bussin pizza and got to hangout in the apartment afterwards and that was bussin bussin! For real, for real!
Sunday: we just had church and we then had all of our lessons cancel and then we had like 50 doors of people saying no then we went to dinner at a members house and that was cool! then we just go to go chill after and we fell asleep on the couch at like 9:30 ahah!!
Monday: We got up at like 5am and went to a place called pretty place and took some banger pics!
spiritual thought: in John 8:11 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
12 ¶ Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
In the gospel of Jesus Christ we often think that he can be someone that we don't turn to when we sin but through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can all be saved! The way that he loves the sinner and not the sin is what I admire most about our savior! his ability to turn out when the whole world wants him to turn in and be selfish! while he focuses on the individual and yet can strengthen the whole! That is who I am going to become the more and more I use the atonement of Jesus Christ and find true repentance! and rest from the outside world! I just realized that i totally forgot to send my talk last week so here it is I love yall reach out to me on messenger. I wanna hear from yall! miss you guys!
Good morning brothers and sisters, it's my hope and my prayer that what I have prepared for you today can add to the spirit that is already here! Over the course of this week my love for our prophet and his call to action has grown! He told us that in the coming days we will see the true manifestation of Jesus Christ! but his call to action is that we cannot survive spiritually without a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ! We need to nurture and strengthen our testimonies by yielding to the etensings of the holy spirit and becoming a saint through the atonement of Jesus Christ! And just how can we do that? We do that by overcoming the world and finding rest!
In the talk, to overcome the world and find rest, our prophet gave us multiple examples of what we can do to find rest in this world! Some of those are keeping covenants, having faith in Christ and his atonement, and lastly finding everlasting peace through our testimonies of the restored gospel. Today I would like to discuss these ways and what we can do to better strengthen ourselves!
A covenant is a two way promise with the lord! When we choose to take upon ourselves these covenants we vow to always choose to stand as a witness of him at all times, places and things. In the talk the prophet goes on to say, “They have not yet discovered that making and keeping covenants actually makes life easier! Each person who makes covenants in baptismal fonts and in temples—and keeps them—has increased access to the power of Jesus Christ”. As we ponder that stu nning truth we learn that the promise blessing of keeping covenants is heavenly power! “This power has the ability to help us grow from our trials, learn from our mistakes, and make heartache temporary! This gospel principle makes it clear that those who live the higher laws of Christ have access to his higher power”!
Faith is a strong belief that motivates or inspires a person to change. Having faith in Christ means to fully trust in him and his plan for you! Through that trust it will lead us with the help of the holy ghost to have a change of heart! In the talk President Nelson further mentions “Because the Savior, through His infinite Atonement, redeemed each of us from weakness, mistakes, and sin, and because He experienced every pain, worry, and burden you have ever had, then as you truly repent and seek His help, you can rise above this present precarious world”. Through Christ we are able to see that faith in him and his atonement means believing that he is the son of god, he suffered for all mankind, and through that sacrifice we should want us to follow him, trust in him, and obey and keep all of his commandments!
Lastly, I'd like to speak on behalf of the prophet with this closing remark “To this end, I extend to members of the entire Church the same charge I gave to our young adults last May. I urged them then—and I plead with you now—to take charge of your own testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel. Work for it. Nurture it so that it will grow. Feed it truth. Don’t pollute it with false philosophies of unbelieving men and women. As you make the continual strengthening of your testimony of Jesus Christ your highest priority, watch for miracles to happen in your life”.
Brothers and Sisters I leave with you my testimony as a witness of christ! I know that he lives. that he loves us and he will never leave us astray because of this “Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen!
TILL NEXT TIME THIS IS YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD UTE FAN SAYING GO UTES AND I'LL SEE Y'ALL IN THE NEXT ONE PEACE!!
